Jostens is committed to conserving the environment by taking responsible actions at all our operational and administrative facilities. We continue to focus on methods to reduce our environmental footprint and set meaningful and achievable carbon reduction goals. We believe what we can measure, we can improve.
Energy Efficiency
Jostens corporate headquarters in Minneapolis is in an ENERGY STAR United States EPA certified building. This certification is the mark of superior energy performance and identifies our building along with the most energy efficient in the nation. By opting to house our corporate headquarters in an ENERGY STAR certified building, Jostens is actively preventing the release of greenhouse gases and thereby aiding in the protection of the environment.
Recycling Paper
Totals from November 2010 to December 2014:
- 24,624 tons of waste paper recycled
- 418,599 trees saved
- 24,626 cubic yards of landfill space saved
Recycling Aluminum/Litho Plates
Totals from November 2010 to December 2014:
- 7.8 million lbs of aluminum recycled
- 12.5 million lbs of greenhouse gas reductions (equivalent to 5.5 million gallons of gasoline)

Recycling Plastic
From January 2012 to December 2014 Jostens recycled 115.98 tons of plastic, which is equivalent to 1,889 barrels of oil and 2,552 cubic meters of landfill saved.
Water Stewardship
Although Jostens operations are not water usage intensive, we take great care in ensuring clean water stewardship. For instance, Jostens Denton, TX manufacturing facility has made process and facilities investments that have resulted in reduced water usage by 40% in 2014 compared to the baseline year of 2010. Overall this represents a savings of 22.4 million gallons of water from 2011 to 2014.
